Abel Kabel
Abel Kabel (b. 2000 in Herning, Denmark) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Aarhus, Denmark. His paintings are typically a distinctive blend of texture and intuitive line drawings on canvas, using thick paint to create a balanced interplay between light and heavy elements. Kabel’s work operates at the intersection of painting and sculpture, combining raw materiality with a deliberately unrefined aesthetic. His “crummy sculptures” and expressive paintings speak of immediacy and vulnerability, resisting polished narratives in favor of something more instinctive and emotionally direct. Drawing from urban environments, online imagery, and autobiographical fragments, his practice reflects on identity formation, resilience, and nostalgia without sentimentality. Rooted in his own lived experiences, Kabel’s works remain open and immediate, allowing personal narratives to unfold into something widely relatable.
