David Monllor (b. 1987, Aarau, Switzerland) is known for the vivid and vibrant colours of his palette, rendering objects in ways they cannot be perceived naturally in reality. While his work may be categorised as contemporary realism, it is the realism of the latent. The artist uses light and colors to capture quiet everyday scenes, often saturated with cool greens and blues. He creates an atmosphere thick with mystery in the empty streets that often become the subject of his art. The pervasive portrayal of light enhances the surreal, almost cinematic quality of his work. Monllor masterfully uses light as both subject and mood-setter, exploring themes of isolation, modern urban existence, and the quiet poetry found in everyday scenes. The result is a contemplative and atmospheric works that invite the viewer to linger in its hushed, enigmatic world. The artwork includes a black wooden frame.
