Noemi Durighello

“g”, 18 × 14 cm, Oil and transfer on canvas, 2026

In recent works, Durighello focuses on alphabetic signs, transforming letters into ambiguous physical forms suspended between real objects and media symbols. Emptied of their usual meaning, language breaks into autonomous visual signs through which painting becomes a more physical and emotional form of expression rather than a narrative one.

In a time when advertising slogans are gradually losing their power, replaced by algorithms that anticipate and shape our interests, the artist’s research shifts from observing everyday reality toward the visual force of the sign, its readability, and its nonsense.
