Noemi Durighello is inspired by still life and the world of objects. Her focus lies on the natural elements contained in (mainly baroque) still life paintings. They appear in the form of fruit, flowers or food and remind us of the finiteness and transience of all earthly life – the vanitas motif. In addition, she develops her own formal language through the abstraction and deconstruction of objects in her analogue and digital environment as well as visual association and formal comparison. In untitled the subjects are barely hinted at and leave room for infinite interpretations: a slice of watermelon and a fruit in black and white, a seed and a light? The enlargement of objects that in reality are small, and the reverse action allows Durighello to create a short circuit between the representation of things and their true meaning.
