This artwork by artist duo Sobekcis explores the deconstruction of movement and gesture, drawing inspiration from the duo’s background in graffiti. They use elements commonly associated with graffiti, such as the marks created by a fat-cap spray can nozzle, and combine them through collage with different forms of mark-making. The artwork also incorporates spirographic line structures that reference the movement of the body while painting in public space, translating the physical act of graffiti writing into an abstract visual language.
